Creating New Account in WHM

The following article outlines steps to manually create a cPanel account on a WHM server. Keep in mind that this will happen automatically for a Domain of One’s Own setup. This guide will be useful for admins running their own Managed cPanel server or if DoOO admins need to create a cPanel account not assigned to SSO credentials.

This tutorial assumes the domain you're working with is already registered and pointed at Reclaim Hosting's nameservers. If you are using subdomains instead, this tutorial still applies, but you'll want to confirm that DNS is pointed correctly. Previously assigned project URLs and related subdomains should work automatically.

Creating a new cPanel account

Log into WHM and search for the Create a New Account tool using the search bar along the top. Alternatively it is most likely listed under Top Tools on the homepage.

Once selected, you'll have access to the various account creation options.

Start first by typing in the preferred Domain name. Next, the Username and Password you can determine for this cPanel account. Add the cPanel account owner’s email. In this instance the package will likely be set to default, but you may have several options listed such as Faculty, Student, Organization, etc. The difference being each enables distinct features like a certain amount of disk space, SSH Access, Addon Domains, etc. You can learn more about creating custom versions of cPanel by reading through the following guide: Hosting Packages

When ready, click Create to provision the new cPanel account.

Making changes to an existing cPanel account

Once the cPanel account has been created, you can always change any additional settings you need to using the “+” symbol to the left of the account when searching in the list accounts window. List Accounts is almost always one of the Top Tools on the home screen.

From there you can use module commands to change cPanel credentials, account quotas, site status, and more:
