Setting Up cPanel Email Accounts on Mobile Devices

Please note that as of January 1, 2025, email functionality like that described below will no longer be available for those with Student/Personal and Faculty/Professional Shared Hosting plans.

When you have an email address attached to your domain, you don’t have to use the webmail provided by Reclaim Hosting. cPanel provides specific settings so that you can connect your email to another device like your laptop or mobile device. This article will walk you through how to connect your email address to a mobile device, specifically an iPhone.

First, you’ll need to get the settings needed to connect your email account properly. Login to your cPanel.

From there, you’ll navigate to the ‘Email Accounts’ section.

You’ll see a list of all email accounts you currently have set up. Click ‘Connect Devices’ within the same line as the email address you’d like to connect to your device.

This will bring up a list of mail clients and you can absolutely use those options to set up the email client, but we’re going to use the settings listed below these options under "Mail Client Manual Settings". I’m going to use the settings outlined in blue, under the "Secure SSL/TLS Settings (Recommended)" heading.

The Mail Client Manual Settings section in cPanel contains the information you will need to complete the email setup process on your device. When adding your account, your email app may ask for details such as the account type (IMAP or POP), incoming and outgoing mail servers, ports, encryption settings, and your username/password.

Use the settings provided under Connect Devices in cPanel to fill in these fields during the setup process. The exact steps and screens will vary depending on your device and email app, so refer to the instructions for your specific device below:

  • iPhone/iPad (Apple Mail app): Follow Apple's instructions for adding an email account. When prompted to choose an email provider, select Other and enter your email settings manually if your provider is not listed.
Apple Support: Add an email account to your iPhone or iPad
  • Android devices (Gmail app): Follow Google's instructions for adding another email account to the Gmail app. You may need to select Other when adding a non-Gmail address and enter your email settings manually.
Google Support: Add another email account in the Gmail app
  • Other email apps: If you use a different mail app, check the app's documentation for instructions on adding an IMAP or POP account.

If you run into any issues along the way, feel free to submit a ticket to support@reclaimhosting.com with screenshots of the settings you’re using to connect to the server.
