Knowing how to change and where to manage your domains DNS records can be an intimidating task. While cPanel has a section called Zone Editor, it’s actually possible to make changes to DNS through the Client Area.
Let’s see how this is done.
You’ll first need to access your Client Area.
After logging in, click on either Domains > My Domains or the Domains box.
Next click anywhere in the row of the domain name that you want to manage. (Don't click right on the domain name; that will open the site in a new window.)
On the next page, expand the Manage sidebar area if it is not expanded already. Then click DNS Management.
You’ll now be able to add new DNS records or modify any existing ones.
If this option is not present, please contact Reclaim Hosting Support so we can enable DNS Management on your domain.
Editing DNS Records In DNS Management
The DNS Management tool in the Client Area works a bit differently than you might expect when editing existing DNS records. If you have an existing record that needs to be updated, editing the existing record will likely result in an error message.
The best option is to remove the Host Name and Address for the record, and then click Save Changes. This will delete the existing record so that you can then add the updated record as a new record.
Example:
If I have an A record that is pointed to 123.45.678.99 and I need to update it to point to 111.22.33.456, then I would:
1. Remove the @ from the Host Name field, remove 123.45.678.99 from the Address field, and then save those changes. That will remove the existing A record from my DNS Management section.
2. I can then add the new record and save the changes again to put the new A record in place and update my domain's DNS.
